At Mitchell Bros we specialise in manufacturing high quality structural timber, fencing timber and outdoor treated timber. We also make timber produce bins and pallets, timber hay barns and round wood air dried farm fence posts and poles. Mitchell posts are stronger than steam dried posts and come with a 40 year unconditional replacement guarantee.

Our sawmill and timber processing plant is located at Darfield, close to a secure supply of logs grown in Canterbury’s plentiful Radiata Pine forests. Established in 1946, Mitchell Bros is a family owned business. The current managers Tony and David are third generation owners. Their sons Brad and Scott also work for the business.

With more than 60 years in the sawmilling business, the Mitchell family knows what it takes to consistently produce quality timber.

Structural Timber Wholesaler

We provide New Zealand trade customers with:

MSG8 structural grades in set length packs untreated –H3.1 LOSP and H3.2 CCA. Sizes include 75x50/100x50/150x50/200x50/250x50/300x50 100x40/150x40.
In the wet treated market we offer Number 1 and Heartland Grades for farm buildings.
